Robert Halligan was born in Davenport, Iowa to Melvin and Marie Halligan, and was a long time resident of Castro Valley. Bob served in the US Navy
during World War II
as a Seaman Signalman on the aircraft carrier USS Cape Esperance in the South Pacific. He retired from the Alameda County Superintendent of Schools after 50 years of service. Bob was an avid antique clock and pocket watch collector and a member of the NAWCC. He also enjoyed NASCAR, square dancing and spending time in Chester, CA.
Bob is survived by his daughters Barbara (Keith) and Lace, grandson Adam and long time lady friend of 19 years, Janice Carlson.
