Robert Jue

Robert Jue May 5, 1949 - Oct. 6, 2012 Resident of Richmond Renown and beloved family member and Montclair Elementary School teacher Robert Jue, passed away on Oct. 6, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Robert was born on May 5, 1949 and raised in Oakland. He attended Cleveland Elementary School, McChesney Junior High School, and Oakland High School. He received his Bachelors and Teaching Credential from the University of California at Davis and his Masters in Education from St. Mary's College. Robert loved nature and the wilderness as much as he loved the hundreds of children he taught in Oakland. He was an exceptional photographer, dedicated swimmer, and casual bicyclist. In his youth, he was an active Boy Scout and taught many summers at Boy Scout camps. As an adult, he was an avid backpacker and traveled many trails in the Sierra Mountains. He built a cabin in northeast Washington and enjoyed countless summers there with his family. He is survived by his parents Willie and Lai Quan Jue, his sister Cherie Wong (Michael), his brothers Rodney Jue (Terry) and Roger Jue (Wendy Ng), his son Jeremy Jue, his daughter Sierra Jue-Leong, their mother Cynthia Jue-Leong, and his friend Karen Nicola. A celebration of his life is pending.
