Roger Ting Guy Woo

Roger Ting Guy Woo Nov 3, 1934 - Mar 22, 2013 Resident of Alameda, CA The youngest of twelve children, Roger Woo was born in Oakland, CA but during his lifetime also resided in Sacramento and finally, Alameda. Following high school Mr. Woo enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving as a communications teletype operator. After receiving an honorable discharge, he used the military's funding to further his education. He was in the first graduating class at American River College and subsequently attended Sacramento State where he earned a degree in business. Following his university years, he held various jobs before eventually being hired by General Foods. He continued working there for 22 years as the Traffic & Distribution Manager until his retirement. In 1987, he married Anna Wong Sniffen of Alameda. Following Anna's retirement, the Woos travelled extensively. They toured the United States and Canada by vehicle. They also travelled worldwide to destinations including greater Asia, Europe, the South Pacific, South America, Australia and the pyramids in Egypt. He is survived by his wife Anna, sister Mabelle, brothers Bob and Jim, stepchildren Kayla Check and William Sniffen, daughter-in-law Cindy Erickson-Sniffen, son-in-law Robert Check and grandchildren Kekoa and Kianna Check. In addition to his immediate family, he is also survived by a large contingent of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great-grandnephews. The family is requesting no gifts or flowers.
