My sympathy go to Vince and Mary's family for their loss.
Mary and I were colleagues for more than 20 years. I will miss Mary's wisdom, friendship, and dedication; she set an example for other. Mary was well known and appreciated at Everett Community College for her compassion, dedication, and commitment to the students; she made a positive difference in their lives. It is a privilege to have known and worked with Mary for many years. I, as many others are grateful for her friendship and service; She will be missed

Mary was a lovely gentle woman. She touched many lives during her time at Everett Community College. The compassion, respect and interest she gave to her second language learners was very admirable. Her smile and sense of humor made everyone feel welcome in her classroom. I feel honored that she was my friend. Kathleen Gutierrez

We are very saddened by Mary's passing. She was a dear friend, a colleague at Everett Community College and godmother to our daughter Alexa. As an educator, she dedicated herself to empowering a diverse population of immigrants through literacy and helped organize the community through her outreach and advocacy with the Immigrant and Refugee Forum and the Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of Snohomish County. We fondly remember the dinners at their home in Mill Creek and we will always miss that incredible warm smile. We know that God has blessed Mary and we send our deepest sympathies to Vince and the Castro family. Much Love and Aloha.

I am sorry to learn of the passing of Mary Castro. I attended a workshop with her in the late 1990's and found much to admire in her then and right through to when she retired and left Everett Community College. In many ways, including her guidance to so many students, she leaves a wonderful legacy. My sympathy to Vince and family for your loss.

I taught with Mary for many years at Everett Community College and she was such a good friend who was always ready to help me in any way. We shared many many laughs and I missed her laugh the minute she retired. A special woman who will be missed. Lauren Gunderson (ESL)

Mary was a warm and thoughtful woman who always had a smile on her face, and in her heart. I enjoyed working with her on hiring committees at Everett Community College over the years, and I have missed her since she retired. I am very sorry for your loss. May God give you all comfort at this time, and always.
