Bruce Lanelle Craig May 27, 1931 - Oct. 24, 2013 Resident of Dublin Bruce Lanelle Craig of Dublin, CA died surrounded by his family on Thurs., Oct. 24, 2013. He was 82. Bruce was born in Oakland, CA on May 27, 1931 to Lanelle Bruce (L.B.) and Fern (Ford) Craig. Bruce graduated from Castlemont High School in 1949 and then went to work for the Oakland Fire Dept., in 1953. His career spanned over 26 years achieving the rank of Acting Battalion Chief and retiring as a Captain in 1979. Bruce attended Neighborhood Church for almost 60 years. He can best be described as a man who was a generous and humorous servant to others. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 56 years, Joyce, of Dublin; his son, Larry of San Leandro; and daughter, Karen Beskeen and husband, David and their children Jordan, Jennifer and Justin all of Grass Valley, CA. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille Robinson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bruce was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and dear family friend. He lived a life of strength and dignity, with grace and humor. Bruce deserves a much needed rest in the arms of our Savior! We will miss you! A Celebration of Life will be held at 10am, Sat., Nov. 16, 2013 at Neighborhood Church, 20600 John Dr., Castro Valley, CA 94546.
