Resident of Castro Valley
Beloved wife of Joseph C. Treml, cherished mother of Linda Hallam Treml (Alameda), Karla Fuller (Pleasanton) and Paula Treml (Castro Valley), proud grandmother of Richard Hallam, Dennis Hallam, David Hallam, Gregory Hallam, Erin Cummins, Kimberly Cummins and Erik Cummins, and delighted great-grandmother of 13.
A native of Oakland, CA and 62 year resident of Castro Valley, Corinne graduated from Oakland High School in 1943, worked as a piano teacher and a secretary, and then earned teaching credentials from Cal State Hayward. In her 21 years with the Castro Valley School District, Corinne orchestrated the business training and job placement of thousands of women.
She received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the California Council for Adult Education Bay Section that covers the area from San Jose to the Oregon border. She also received a Teacher of Excellence Award from the Alameda County chapter of CCAE.
Corinne loved people and was active in numerous groups including Golden Bay Runners Club, exercise groups at Bay-0-Vista Tennis & Swimming Club where she was a member for over 30 years, and several chapters of the Red Hat Ladies group.
Corinne loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She and her husband, Joe, traveled extensively but enjoyed Maui most of all.
Her shining spirit, enthusiasm and joyous attitude will be greatly missed.
Contributions to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers would be appreciated. A memorial service is planned for March 26, 2013 at 1 PM at Jess C. Spencer Mortuary 21228 Redwood Rd in Castro Valley, CA.

For some reason Corinne was on my mind today. I have a phone number for her but thought I'd see if she was online. What a sad surprise. I worked with her at the Castro Valley Adult School. Sadly, I let years go by without thinking of her. I'm sure not a day goes by for her family. My heart goes out to you and my prayers are with you.

On behalf of Corinne's friends and exercise partners at Bay o Vista, we extend our deepest condolences to Joe and the family. It wasn't that long ago that Corinne could balance better than any of us in our class! But, her smile, her caring attitude were contagious.
We loved her, and will continue to enjoy Joe...Be strong, Joe!
