Daniel Castro Obituary

Daniel A. Castro Jr. Mar. 26, 1941 - Feb. 10, 2013 Born to Anne & Daniel Castro, Sr. in Oakland. Dan attended St. Louis Bertrand Elementry School & Castle-mont HS, class of 1959. He retired from Lonestar Industries in 1998 where he worked as a mechanic. Dan is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Cindy Hohl of Turlock, Shelley Andersen of Sonora & Ed Castro of Gilroy; six grandchildren and sister, Sandra Pierce (Cliff) of Fremont. He was a lifelong fisherman and belonged to the Skippers Club, Tri-Cities Anglers and the Nor Cal Fishing Clubs. In the last few years he was a daily customer of Peets Coffee in Fremont where he went for coffee and to chat with friends. Dan was interested in everything, but his biggest love was his family, his dog, Lexi and his friends. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a courageous two year battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran, 1301 Mowry Ave, Fremont on Saturday, March 23 at 10:00 am. Donations for the American Cancer Assoc. will be taken at the memorial service.
