Gene this one goes out from the Gardner family. So sorry that you past before I could come to see you in living. I have to say we have so many memories of the days back in Germany to Oakland Army base and even when you came out to West Virginia to visit us back in those days. I was just a little girl when you met up with my father during active duty. Just like my father you too were a soft spoken man that always loved a good story line with a hearty laugh and mama's cooking. Not all is lost as one day I too will be gone but will have the honor to see you again with your great laughter and big smile. Gene you will always be in our hearts and thoughts until then...
Forever Go Army! As you, me and John (my father) would say....
Love,
Margie

Uncle Gene is one of the few men on the planet that I can say was truly sweet and dear. His kindness and gentleness has always been an inspiration to me and my family. I thank God for bringing you to Aunt Francis and her for sharing you with all of us.

Uncle Gene,
I want to tell that you have been a wonderful uncle to all of us. We truly love you and will miss our light hearted banter about the Raiders vs. 49er's. And next time I make candied yams I will serve a extra helping for you. We will cherish the memories we had with you! God Bless you and thank you for being such a wonderful and kind uncle. Love Kathy, Steve, Haley and Thomas
