Florence Matthews Obituary

Resident of San Leandro
Florence "Babe" Matthews, 95, only child of John and Julia Vierra, born and raised in Oakland, CA, passed away on April 10th as a result of complications from a fall. She enjoyed many careers and activities during her life, including: an EBMUD Draftsman, various retail and administrative positions, competiative square dancing, creative crafting and sewing, and especially as a full-time wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Myron; daughter Janet Shaw (Don), son Tom Matthews (Nanci) and 5 grandchildren, Lara Giles, Nichelle Rourke, Jeff Matthews, Ashley Christopher, Allyson Schwab; and 9 great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday May 1st at Holy Sepulchre Chapel at 6pm.

RIP Babe, you are a cousin of mine, I haven't seen you in many years, but remember going to your house and Aunt Julia's, when I was a kid....My Mom and Dad were Will and Louise Vierra, they are passed as well. Vickie
