Graciela Herrera of Fremont passed away March 30, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife to Ruben Herrera of Fremont for 57 years. Beloved mother to Fernando Herrera and his wife Kelly of Fremont, Ruben Herrera, Jr. and his wife Dalia of San Francisco, Carlos Herrera of Fremont, Irma Herrera of San Francisco, Hilda Quintero and her husband Jose of Fremont and Maria Herrera of Fremont. Cherished grandmother to Vanessa, Lydia, Brittany, Alicia, Janelle, Fernando, Jr., Issac and Isaiah. Great Grandmother to Brooklyn, Reese and Maddex. Sister to Concha Martin and her husband Oton of Venice, Teresa Campos of Mexico and Martin Campos of Los Angeles. Graciela is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Javier Campos and her sister Carmela Campos.
Born October 10, 1939 in San Juan de Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico. She came to the states in 1961 with three children. Three additional children were born while living in San Francisco. The family moved to Fremont in 1974. Graciela worked for 37 years as a Custodial Supervisor. She enjoyed crocheting, singing, shopping, and was an incredible cook. Her greatest pleasure in life was being around and participating in family activities. She will be remembered as a loving wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother, and a good and loyal friend. She will be greatly missed. We love you, Ima.
Visitation will be held at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, 94536, on Wednesday, April 3, 5-8pm with a Vigil at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 4, 11:30am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 34588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, 94536. Burial to follow Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
