Harry Lema Obituary

Resident of San Leandro
We mourn the loss of Harry (Papa) Lema who passed away peacefully at Stanford Hospital. Much loved husband for 49 years to Judi Lema. Devoted father to Roger Lema and wife, Jennifer, Ryan Lema and wife, Denise, Robyn McNaughton and husband, John. "Papa" will forever be remembered by his "rascals" - Jenna and Ashley McNaughton, Britney and Sierra Lema, Colette and Marissa Lema. He absolutely adored his granddaughters. Harry is also survived by his sister, Bernice Matoza and husband, Art, and his brother, Walter Lema and wife, Carol. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, special God-Children, and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Cleo and Antone Lema and his brother Tony. He was born in Oakland and graduated from St. Joseph's Seminary in 1950. He served in the US Army in Alaska, worked 35 years for American Can Co., 50+ year member of the "Canco" Poker Club, Past President and Honorary Life Member of the San Leandro Golf Club, Elio's "Breakfast Club" for over 25 years, and long-time parishioner of St. Felicitas Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at St. Felicitas Church, 1662 Manor Blvd., San Leandro, CA 94579 on Friday, July 12th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Patrick's Seminary and University, 320 Middlefield Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025-3596.

Judi and family: Thank you for letting me know. Judy and I will always be indebted to the Lemas for all of Harry's kindness to our dad in his last year. His visits meant a lot to dad. Thanks, Harry. We will miss you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Lema family. It is hard to imagine life without Harry, but we have wonderful memories of him; his kindness, his love of family, his wonderful laugh, and a very good friend.
