Hedy Shehorn Obituary

Hedy Shehorn
March 24, 1939 - June 9, 2013
Resident of Union City, CA
Hedy passed away after a courageous four year battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. She is now with her guardian angel and free from her health struggles and at peace. Hedy is survived by her three daughters, Darlene (Steven), Susie (Ramon), Sandy (Lex), and five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, nephew and many relatives from her hometown in Germany. In her younger years she enjoyed attending community German dances with the music from her youth.
She was retired from AT&T after 25 years of service.
Our mother will be remembered as a strong, beautiful and hard-working mother who will be deeply missed.
At Hedy's request, no service will be held.

I love you mom. I was wondering if that was a sign from you when all the balloons I bought to release individually, suddenly went up altogether in one big plastic bag. I have been finding dimes everywhere too. I guess with inflation pennies changed to dimes. I sure wish I had some more obvious signs that you are watching over us. I love you. I know you would love our new house with all the singing birds. We watched a baby hummingbird being fed my its mom and then grow up and fly away on its own.

Mom, I think of you everyday. I miss our time together. I miss listening to oldies and singing together while driving to Kaiser. I miss your directions on how to drive while driving to Kaiser even though I drove there so many times with you. You were just being a great Mom. I love you.

So sorry to hear you lost your Mom. I remember Aunt Hedy growing up, the good times up at the Russian River and visiting your parents when they lived in Daly City. Even though your Mom is gone she will always remain in our memories.

Mom you have been much braver than I could ever be in your courageous 4 year battle with ovarian cancer. Your strength and courage never waned. You did your job here on earth, and I am at peace knowing you joined Christ our Savior and no longer suffer the terrible pain ravishing your body. We know you are above, once again reunited with your mom Katrina, dad Max, brother Bernhard, nephew Roland and your aunt Freida and the rest of your clan. You are free to sing the songs and dance the dances like you use to in our youth. We all love you Mom.

When we were kids, I remember her as a tough mother. I even feared her. When I got to know her as an adult, I realized that's what it took to raise decent, responsible adults as both mother and father. Your Mother will always have my respect. She can now rest in peace.

Now you can rest in peace, pain free, worry free, and dancing with the angels! May your heart and beautiful spirit live on in your girls..

I love you mom. I thought you still had a few months left. I never imagined the end was so near. You are not suffering anymore and that keeps me strong. For your strength is in all of us your daughters. I love you and I hope to see more signs that you are watching over us.
