It's hard to believe that it's been a year since we celebrated Janet's life. It was a shock then and it's still difficult today to think that she was taken from us at such a young age. We take strength in knowing she'll always live on in our hearts with so many great memories.

Joe and I have been praying for you and your family. I've been remembering your wedding shower, meeting your family, playing games with both your mom and grandma sharing in their happiness and pride for you.

To Sam, Alex and family:
My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. Nothing anyone can say will make the pain any easier to bear, but if there is something you need or if you just need someone to talk to please let me know. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

This picture of Janet was taken with our friend Sandy Sty, who passed in 1967, Mike L., who passed in the early 70's, and Walter S. It was taken in our 8th grade year at Vallejo Mill School.

I was Janet's next door neighbor and best friend from 3rd grade until our Junior year when we both moved to Mission San Jose (me) and Warm Springs (Janet). It was a complete and utter shock to see her obituary in the newspaper this morning. I had hoped to see her at high school reunions (both MSJ and Logan) but she never came. I was able to see her a couple of times after graduation, but we fell into that routine of being too busy starting careers, losing contact, starting families, but I did re-connect with her just after she had Samantha. I learned about the birth and wish we had been able to get together after that, but it never seemed to happen. I know now that I'll never get to visit with her again as I have hoped I would every time there was a reunion. And the worst part is that we haven't moved that far a distance from each other. It's really just a matter of miles. I'll always have the memories. Memories are what we cherish and they sustain us. Her death (and the death of a few others recently) has convinced me to not put off until later seeing the people I want to see again and visiting the places I want to see. Life is too short! I'm including a picture of myself with Janet and our friend, Sandy, who has also passed. There are two others I will include in new messages.
