Lawrence Reichhold Obituary

Lawrence Morgan Reichhold July 27, 1928 - April 23, 2013 Resident of Walnut Creek Larry Reichhold passed away peacefully at home on April 23rd at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Fran; two sons, Steve Reichhold of Concord and Gary Reichhold (Catherine) of Alamo; daughter Karen Howard (Robert) of San Ramon; and seven grandchildren: Andrew Reichhold, Jennifer Reichhold, Ryan Howard, Christina Reichhold, Meghan Reichhold, David Howard and Amy Reichhold. Larry grew up in Oakland, California where he enjoyed many Oakland Oaks baseball games as a child with his brother Jack and his mother Helen. He was also a fan of the A's and Giants. He had a passion for fishing as a young adult with many days spent on the delta and San Francisco bay on his boat. Larry enjoyed traveling with his family on many family vacations. He graduated from Castlemont High School in 1946 and then served two years in the Navy Reserve. Larry was a member of Teamsters Union Local 315 where he worked many years for Colombo French Bread Company and later for Richmond Produce Company. He retired in 1988. Larry and Fran raised their three children in San Leandro, California and then moved to El Sobrante in 1989. They relocated to Rossmoor in Walnut Creek in 2009. Larry was truly a gentle man, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. We will never forget his sparkling blue eyes and warm smile. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. There will be a private memorial and celebration of Larry's life in May. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northern California (http://www.alz.org/norcal/).
