Resident of Fremont
Renato Lauchengco Velasquez also known as Rene or Ato passed away at his home on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 5:25am surrounded by his family: Wildie his wife of 34 years; 3 children, Jacqueline married to Bon Fabunan, Jordana married to Chester Gavarrete, Juan Carlos with fiancée Johanna; their adorable grandson, Anthony Jordan and 2 expected grandchildren this year. Renato has also left his 11 siblings.
Renato worked at SRI International as a Biology Tech before he passed. He was a long time resident of Fremont and a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.
Renato will be remembered as a strong and joyful person who fought cancer with courage and a positive attitude. His family would like to thank God for adding 4 more years to his life to be with them. This past 4 years was the best time for him and his family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, from 5-9pm with a Vigil at 6pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23, 11:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 40382 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
