Reuben Peraza Obituary

Resident of Fremont
Reuben passed away suddenly on April 20, 2013 with family members by his side. Born in San Diego on August 8, 1943 to Reuben and Josephine Peraza, Reuben is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sharon. He is also survived by his sons Douglas Peraza of Perrysburg, OH and Alexander Peraza who resides in San Antonio, TX with his grandsons, Joseph, Adam and Nicholas and daughter in law Jamey. In addition, he is survived by his mother Josephine Peraza of Hayward, siblings Yolanda Manos of Tracy, Sue Hrones of Kennesaw, GA, Emily Hernandez of Manteca, and David Peraza of Fremont.
After graduating from James Logan High in 1961, Reuben joined the US Air Force from 1961-1964. After the Air Force, Reuben became a Tool and Die maker and later the owner of Peraza Tool and Mold. He traveled both professionally and personally for enjoyment throughout his life. He enjoyed rebuilding his 48 Desoto, playing golf, spending time with his family, and attending 49er games. He was a season ticket holder for 40 years, and attended 3 Super Bowls. Reuben also enjoyed going to Arnold, CA.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or Guide Dogs for the Blind.

I'm so sorry to hear of Reuben's passing. I just learned today through a friend that he had passed. He was a very giving, compassionate soul, who helped me out of a difficult situation many years ago. I'll never forget the kind act that Reuben and his son Doug did for me so many years ago. I think of him every year on that anniversary. May he rest in eternal peace and his family have comfort in knowing he was such a good person.

I'm still in shock over the sudden loss of Uncle Reuben! He and Aunt Sharon were living their life together during retirement in a fashion most aspire for--filled with travel, golf, visiting & playing with their grandsons in Texas regularly, and especially enjoying their daily lives with one and other. Aunt Sharon, it really touched me to hear how Uncle Reuben was planning a trip to Naples, Italy to celebrate your 50th wedding anniversary! I'm deeply saddened that the two of you will not be able to share & celebrate that wonderful journey together.

The Peraza's were old friends and neighbors of the Cliff Medley family on Albany Street in Hillview Crest in South Hayward.
Sincere condolences to Reuben's wife Sharon and their children and to his mother Josephine and to his sisters Yolanda, Sue, Emily and his brother David.
