Richard Montero Obituary
Resident of Castro Valley
Richard Joseph Montero resident of Castro Valley, formerly longtime resident of San Ramon, CA. Richard passed away at home at the age of 80. He was born in Livingston, California in 1932 & grew up in Alameda, Calif. He was a retired heavy truck driver. He had a great sense of humor & wonderful unique personality. He loved the Oakland Raiders, golf, old westerns, trips to Reno, Nevada, music, especially Elvis & was a wonderful dancer. He faithfully attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He proundly served our country in the Korean War & was Honorably Discharged as a CPL from the California Engineers Sixth Army. He is survived by loving & devoted wife Margarita, children & step children, Richard Montero, Linda Miller-Eversole, Lloyd Izak, Janet Garcia, Sandra Lecha, Abraham Quinonez & Ernesto Kader. Grandchildren & step grandchildren, James, Dawn, Elizabeth, Christina, Manuel, Matt, Tim, Richard Joseph, Victor, Ryan, Robert, Lydia, Anthony, Jeremy & Xavier. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph & mother Mamie, 1st wife Edith & 2nd wife Elizabeth. Friends & family are invited to a visitation on Thursday Sept 12th starting at 3 pm & Rosary at 6 PM at Graham Hitch Mortuary 4167 First Street, Pleasanton, CA., 94566. Richard's life will be celebrated in a Mass of Christian Burial at St Augustine Catholic Church, 3999 Bernal Ave, Pleasanton, CA., 94566 starting at 10 AM on Friday Sept 13th. Thank you to Pathways Hospice.

So sad to know of Richs passing. He was and will always be a wonderful man. As a patient at my work he always had a smile for you when ever he came in. May he watch over everyone still here.

Richard was a very warm, sweet, honest sincere, and hard-working person. He cherished his lovely and magnanimous wife Margarita, her incredibly delicious cooking, the wonderful home they created together. The duo enjoyed El Rancho restaurant, too, especially the early bird specials. Don't forget he also adored (or put up with?) his little pooch, Pepper. May the Lord bring comfort and solace to his family and friends.
