Thelma Sayles Obituary
Resident of Berkeley
Passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 in Fresno, at 90 years of age. A native of Nowata, Oklahoma and long-time resident of Berkeley. Survived by her daughters, Velma White and Deborah Harvey, both of San Diego; sons, Curtis Sayles Jr. of Stockton, and Robert Sayles of Fresno; 7 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Curtis Sayles Sr. in 1980; and daughter, Mamie Garth earlier this year. Mrs. Sayles graduated from Nowata High School in 1940, and worked as a manager for Digital Telephone Systems, San Rafael; retired 1982. She enjoyed sewing, and worked part-time during her later years as a seamstress .
Friends and acquaintances are cordially invited to attend funeral services Monday, July 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sunset View Mortuary, top of Fairmount Avenue, El Cerrito; interment following, Sunset View Cemetery. Viewing from 11:00 a.m. Monday in the mortuary.
