Wilma Calcagno Obituary
April 23, 1918 - July 25, 2013
Resident of Newark
Entered into rest on July 25, 2013 in Fremont, CA at the age of 95. Preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Albrecht. Survived by her daughter Kristine McClanahan and husband Ron; her granddaughters: Gina Blum and husband Patrick, Kimberly Cowan and husband Rusty, and Angela Avila; and her great-grandsons: Michael Gary, Sean, Michael Andrew, Brannon, and Marcello.
Billie was born on April 23, 1918 in Sacramento, CA. At the age of 70 Billie graduated with honors from Cal State Hayward with a degree in English. She was a voracious reader, an acclaimed water color artist, a poet for many years, an award winning photographer and an avid golfer. One of her happiest moments was hitting a hole-in-one at Pebble Beach on Cypress. Billie was also a "Pink Lady" volunteering at Washington Hospital for a number of years. She was the original owner of Spin-A-Yarn in Fremont with her husband Johnny Calcagno.
The family wishes to thank St. Anthony's Care Home and Vitas Hospice for the love and care Billie received.

Condolences to the Calcagno family. My parents favorite place to have their anniversary dinners was the Spin N Yarn. Thanks for helping us to create those wonderful memories at a place that was started by you and your husband.
