ANN BARRATT HALL HODGKIN

Ann lived a long and beautiful life and lost a short battle with cancer on Jan. 6, 2014. She was born on Dec. 17, 1920 in Hermosa Beach, CA to Robert and Gladys Hall, after moving to Berkeley she attended Willard Jr. High and graduated Berkeley High. In 1943 she graduated from Cal and married Wilfred Houghton Hodgkin.
After WWII Wilfred graduated from the Episcopal Seminary and in 1949 the couple embarked on their life long service to the church, starting with St Peters By The Sea in Morro Bay. Other churches include St. Timothy in Danville, All Saints in San Leandro, St. Clement in Berkeley, St Paul's in Walnut Creek and Christ Church in Alameda.
While helping with church activities Ann also raised the couples 4 children; Esbeth, Wilfred, Barratt and Donald. Ann loved boating on the bay, vacations at Tahoe, English History, many trips to England and the Alameda Shakespeare Club.
In 1997 Ann and Wolf retired to St. Paul's Towers in Oakland. She is survived by sons Barratt and Donald, Grandchildren; John Hodgkin, Philip Hopkinson and Rebecca Donnelly and Great Grandchildren, Mary and Sara Donnelly. Family and friends are invited to attend memorial services Saturday January 25, 2014 at 10 AM at St Paul's Episcopal Church, 114 Montecito Ave., Oakland, CA. Interment private Sunset View Cemetery.
