Resident of Fremont
Entered into rest on March 27, 2013 in Stanford, California at the age of 57. Devoted father to Brandon Hoffman and his wife Dawn of Hayward, and Scott Hoffman and his wife Melissa of Tracy. Cherished grandfather of Trista. Loving son to Frank and Rose Hoffman of Fremont. Caring brother to Deborah Blodgett and her husband Bob of Charlotte, NC.
Born December 31, 1955 in Long Beach, California to Rose and Frank Hoffman. At two years of age Brad moved to Northern California, Fremont (Irvington District); where he had a happy childhood with his younger sister Deborah. As a young boy he entered the Boy Scouts of America; working his way through the ranks to become an Eagle Scout. He was an avid reader, especially Science Fiction and was a huge Star Trek fan (Trekkie). In 1974 he graduated from Irvington High School after lettering in swimming. He married in 1977 and divorced in 1997; he had two sons: 1980 had 1st son Brandon, and in 1982 welcomed their 2nd son Scott. In 1982 they also moved to North Fremont (Niles District) where he lived to the present day; after raising his two sons he dedicated his time to St. James Episcopal Church (baptized in 1958); where he fulfilled many roles. He loved his church duties, especially bringing communion to the senior citizens who could no longer attend weekly services; he was highly revered by the church clergy and parishioners.
Brad will be remembered most as a loving and dedicated father, son, and brother. It goes without saying how deeply he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held for Brad on Saturday, April 6, 1pm at St. James Episcopal Church, 37051 Cabrillo Terrace, Fremont, CA 94536. Inurnment at St. James Episcopal Church Memorial Gardens in Fremont, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Brad to the St. James General Endowment Fund.
