Frank "Buddy" Joseph Fragomeni, Jr.
Aug. 6, 1934-Oct. 7, 2013
Resident of Castro Valley
Frank Joseph Fragomeni, Jr. passed away unexpectedly Monday at Eden Hospital due to medical complications. Frank Jr. was born to the late Frank Fragomeni, Sr. and Marie Fragomeni on August 6, 1934 in Sacramento. His family then moved to San Francisco where he attended Galileo High School and met the love of his life, Shirley (Harvey) Fragomeni. They married in 1952 and had three children; Pamela, Frank III and Janet. Frank along with his wife, parents and siblings spent tireless hours running their small family business at the old deli below Woolworths on Post & Market before it closed in 1987. After Woolworths closed Frank followed his dream by entering into commercial real estate, which he enjoyed doing for the remainder of his days.
Frank, who was also known to his friends and loved ones as "Buddy" or "Bud", touched many lives with his kind heart, positive outlook and upbeat personality. His love for life was contagious. He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back and smile as he did it. He was very well known in the community and loved by everyone who had the honor of meeting him. He enjoyed traveling and made it a point to try and see the world. On a recent trip, Frank Jr. fell ill and passed due to complications.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, whom after a long battle with cancer passed away in 2009.
He is survived by his loving and devoted children; Pamela Kuykendall (Terry) of Petaluma, Frank Fragomeni III (Brenda) of South San Francisco and Janet Fragomeni of San Mateo along with his grandchildren Rebecca Caldwell, Christopher Caldwell, Christina Di Grande (Roberto) and Ashley Bradford (Troy). He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren; Jessica Brunal, Austin Stubbles, Anthony Bradford, Tyler Bradford and Mason Di Grande. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Rosary on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Jess C. Spencer Mortuary located at 21228 Redwood Road in Castro Valley from 6pm-8pm and a Funeral Service on Monday, October 14th, 2013 at All Souls Catholic Church, 315 Walnut Avenue in South San Francisco at 10am.
