Fred Houseman Nov. 16, 1949 - Dec. 28, 2013 Resident of San Leandro At the age of 64 years, Fred's Lord and Savior whom he loved, gently received Fred into his arms to be with him in glory. Fred was involved in the church where he served his Lord with gladness and his country with pride. Fred was a Navy Vietnam Veteran who served his country as a steward on the USS Enterprise CVN65 from 1968 to 1972. He was involved in many organizations. Through the years, Fred was Sr. Vice Commander in the V.F.W. He was also a chaplain, helped with the Disabled American Veterans and enjoyed being in the American Legion Honor Guard. On his fun side, Fred liked the 49ers, Peanut Butter M&M's and Grumpy. He is survived by his wife Naomi, daughter Emma Houseman, son Pete Houseman and sons Brian and Michael Anderson, mother Amy Houseman, sisters Martha Schlicting, Yvonne Odegarred (Richard), Jeannie Sartain (Jerry), brother-in-law Doug Riner (Christine), nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service to be held, Fr., Jan. 24th, 2014, 11am, Redwood Chapel, 19300 Redwood Rd., Castro Valley, CA 510-886-6300.
