George Wesley Enderlin, resident of San Lorenzo, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2013, at the age of 94.
Survived by daughter Sallie Enderlin, son Milton Enderlin (Vicky Travaglini), granddaughters Ashley and Shelby, sister Juliette Swalling, as well as many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his wife Audrey; sisters Blanch Baehr, Evelyn Collins and Helen Enderlin; brothers Rousseau, Milton, Harold, Euvelle, and Calvin.
Born in South San Francisco, January 19, 1919, to parents Ernest and Eva Enderlin. After graduating from SSF High School, George attended San Mateo JC and San Jose State College. After graduating in 1941, he enlisting in U.S. Navy then in 1943 was commissioned as a B-17 bombardier and completed 25 missions in Europe by March, 1944. He returned to the United States, married Audrey Brinkworth on June 24, 1944. He was discharged from the Army of the United States the following year as a Captain. After 4 years in construction, George began teaching industrial arts at Turlock High School and continued at Hayward High School in 1951, until retiring in 1979. In retirement he enjoyed travel, art, gardening, and visiting with family and friends.
A memorial service will take place at All Saints Episcopal Church, 911 Dowling Blvd., San Leandro, CA, on Tuesday, October 22, at 3 pm. A reception will follow the service. George's final resting place is the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
