Giovanna C. Lassalle 1927-2009 Resident of Castro Valley Giovanna passed away in her home on August 28th, 2009. She celebrated her 82nd birthday with her immediate family on August 9th. Her beloved husband of fifty four years, Paul Lassalle, preceded her in death. Proud Mother and Mother-in-law of Michael and Julie Lassalle, Jim and Marie Lassalle, Tony and Jenny Lassalle. Beloved Nonnie of Paul, Dominic, Greg, Marc, Mary, Emily, Maddie and Grace Lassalle. Dear sister of Cecilia O'Flynn and Ben Corioni. Sister-in-law to John and Madeline Lassalle, Louise Music, Mary and John O'Connor. Dear Aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was a Cal Berkeley Alumni, a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a retired supervisor at Pacific Bell of thirty years. She enjoyed reading, a good cup of fresh hot coffee, cooking for her family at Holidays, her dog Stella and trips to Pollock Pines, but most of all, spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed. Giovanna and her family were blessed by the care and grace of Natalie who was our guardian angel. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 1st, 2009 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3433 Somerset Ave, Castro Valley, with a Vigil Service starting at 7:00pm. Family and friends are invited to join in Giovanna's Celebration of life on Wednesday September 2nd, 2009 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. A reception will follow after mass in Stack Hall. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward after the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
