Lillian Elizabeth "Liz" Lee died peacefully at her home on September 19th, 2013. Liz was born January 4th, 1920 in Springfield, Missouri. She married the love of her life Charles "Chuck" Lamar Lee in 1937. Together they moved from Springfield to Alameda during WWII and eventually made their permanent home in San Lorenzo, California. Liz was very active with the Oakland Children's Hospital Women's Auxiliary throughout her adult life. Chuck and Liz travelled extensively around the world, but her most treasured times were spent at their cabin on the Russian River, entertaining family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004. She is survived by her children - Ann Lew of San Lorenzo and David (Cindy) Lee of Pacific Grove; nephew Warren (Helen) Jones of Bakersfield; Grandchildren - Minky (Tirsh Hunter) Lew, Jonathan (Jessica) Lew, Casey (James) Dexter-Lee, Curry (Brendan) Ernst, Chelsea Lee, Cody Lee; and one Great-Granddaughter, Poppy Lew, who brought her great joy the last years of her life.
The family would like to thank Professional Home Health & Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion. A private memorial for her family will be held at a later date. The family suggests donations in Liz's memory to "Heifer International."
