Mary Davie Obituary

Mary Ogle Davie
Apr 12, 1916-Mar 3, 2013
Resident of San Leandro
Helen was born in South Dakota, to Katherine Gallagher and John Gavin and moved to Oakland, CA at the age of 17. She met Clarence Ogle at a union dance held for those working on the Bay Bridge and married him four years later.
Helen is survived by her children: Bernadette, Warren and Gregory Ogle. Following Clarence's death in 1960, she remarried Bill Davie and is survived by her stepchildren: Gayle, Linda, Margo, Carol, Richard and Bill Jr. Helen is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Helen traveled in her later years; she stood on the Great Wall of China, kissed the blarney stone in Ireland and planted a tree in Israel. Helen was vivacious with a great sense of humor; she loved to gather family for dinner parties, organize bridge groups, attend the theatre and plan lunch dates with friends. Those who knew her, will remember she was very involved in her parish community; a person of integrity. We ask those attending the memorial, honor Helen's request to arrive in bright attire; she led a long colorful life and wanted us to celebrate and honor her death in the same fashion. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
