Sandie Cline Palomba, age 69, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014, after a valiant battle with complicated medical issues. She touched many lives with her loving ways and will be missed.
Born August 4, 1944, in Oakland Ca. to Betty "Bea" and Joseph Frese. She grew up in Hayward and raised her children in the Niles area of Fremont. She graduated from Tennyson High in 1962 and attended Ohlone College and California State University Hayward, where she studied Computer Science.
Sandie worked as a teacher and teacher's aide for ESL students, children with disabilities and showed a particular gift with young children. She also volunteered for the Feral Cat Foundation, rescuing, feeding, and adopting out forgotten kittens.
Sandie was a single mother with limited resources who strived to provide culture and an active life for her children and herself by enjoying all the wonders of the Bay Area and its people.She loved to socialize as an active member of Parents Without Partners, The Church of Religious Science and Gardentown.com.
She cherished traveling to Italy and France with her mother and Hawaii with her friends and family. She camped, fished, loved to spend time on the farm with her grandparents and learned to play the piano as a child. As an adult she played guitar, was a skilled painter and loved gardening.
She is survived by her children Tony, Sheri, Robert and his wife Terri, and grandchildren Serena, Anthony, and Nico.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 5th at the Methodist Church, 2950 Washington Blvd., Fremont, Ca. Reception immediately following.
