Stonco Barfield

Obituary Condolences

STONCO BARFIELD On Monday, July 17, 2006 as God walked in his flower garden looking at all the beautiful blooms, He stopped and picked a beautiful rose, Stonco "Bubba" Barfield. Stonco entered this life on September 23, 1929 in Collinston, Louisiana to the parents of Andrew and Ella Barfield. He later moved to Oakland, California where he met and married his wife of fifty years Dorothy Williams. To this union was born three baby girls, Sonazera "Sandy" Barfield, Linda A. Barfield-Barnett and Kammie L. Barfield. Stonco retired after thirty-seven years of service at the General Motors Assembly plant, in Fremont, California. Upon retirement, he entered into the private business sector and co-founded BB&R Transportation, Inc. until May 2003. The company serviced various hospitals throughout Northern California. To know Bubba was to love him. You could always find him fixing a neighbor's old car, fishing at the lake, telling a good joke, making home improvements "Bubba's" way and sharing his wisdom by giving advice to all who would listen. Last but not least, he loved and provided support to his family and friends and was a stranger to none. Stonco was preceded in death by his father, mother, grandson Christopher L. Barnett, sister Ida Lee Therman, and brother in law Roscoe "Duke" Therman. Stonco leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife Dorothy; daughters Sandy, Linda, Kammie and Patricia, son-in-law Gregg, grandsons Corey and Gregg Jr., granddaughter G'Meakia Iman, nieces Theresa and Ramona, nephews Titus, Timothy, Herbie, Roscoe, CP, George and a host of other relatives and friends; and let's not forget Fuzzy, Dude and Shadow (the dogs). Memorial visitation Monday, July 24, 2006 12pm-5pm at FULLER FUNERALS CHAPEL, 4647 International Blvd., Oakland, CA. Interment Tuesday, July 25, 2006 12noon at ROLLING HILLS MEMORIAL PARK, 4100 Hilltop Drive, Richmond, CA.
