Obituary Condolences

Marge (Kavorkian) Alires Oct. 30, 1922 - Jan. 28, 2014 Resident of Hayward Marge Alires, longtime resident of Hayward, CA, passed away peacefully on Tues., Jan 28 after a long battle with Alzheimer's with her daughter and son-in-law by her side at the Empire Ranch Alzheimer Special Care Facility in Folsom, CA. Marge was born Oct. 30, 1922 in Fresno, CA and moved to Oakland, CA in the late 1930's. She attended McClymonds High School in Oakland. She was a member of the Alameda County Retail Clerks for over 30 yrs. She led a very active life her whole life and helped with functions at the local AARP monthly meetings and St. Bedes Catholic Church in Hayward during the 1960's. She retired in 1980 to enjoy life with her husband Gil. She traveled to Hawaii twice, went on a Caribbean cruise, road trip to Canada, traveled to Pennsylvania touring the mid Atlantic region and visited The White House. Went on many bus trips to Reno with friends and family. Over the years Marge enjoyed taking annual road trips to see relatives in Fresno and Southern California. She has always enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing Bingo, listening to her brother Ralph's band play and loved going to the gym to exercise. She was once on a billboard for a gym in Hayward and was featured as their oldest member at age 73! Marge was married to Gilbert Alires for 43 yrs, who passed away in 1994. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Kolmodin (Don) of Rancho Murieta, CA and her son Richard Jaramillo (Jan) of Hayward, CA. She leaves behind grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Ralph Kavorkian (Evelyn) of San Ramon, CA and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her Mother Bernice Dickinson, Father Oscar Kavorkian and brother George Kavorkian. Her generosity, fun loving personality, energetic spirit will be dearly missed by all. There will be a memorial service held for her family members on Sat., Feb. 8, 2014 at the Chapel of the Chimes 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation in her memory.
