Rolando Liwag Macasieb entered peacefully into rest in Alameda on March 25, 2014. He was 66 years old.
Born on November 5, 1947, Rolando was one of 5 children born to Mamerto and Juliana Macasieb. He was a longtime resident of San Leandro and had worked as a quality control specialist with New United Motors in Fremont prior to their closing. Rolando was a dedicated husband and father who took great pride in his family. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and was treasured by all who knew him.
Rolando is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Marilyn Macasieb of San Leandro; children, Charles R. Macasieb and Berlin Leonor of San Leandro and Roma Macasieb and Nicholas Laureano of Milbrae; brothers, Ofren, Bernie and Andy; grandchildren, Alessandra Aliia, Jared and Avery; many loving extended family and cherished friends.
Rolando was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Naty.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm on Saturday at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. A family led rosary will begin at 6 pm. Visitation will continue on Sunday from noon to 5 pm at the mortuary. The vigil service will begin at 4 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. Rolando will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
