Resident of Hayward
Treasured mother of Jennie Santana, Manuel (Deana) Fumero and Lisa (Harry) Krause. Devoted grandmother of Jordann, Jacob and Zachary Fumero and Jayden and Deven Krause. Cherished aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her two sisters-in-law, Olga and Adela Santiago, and many cousins who loved her, especially her only surviving first cousin, Alejandra. She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel and her nine brothers and sisters. Mama, as she was affectionately called by her children and grandchildren, was born in Puerto Rico. She moved, along with her family to Danville, CA in 1946. In Danville, she managed the Valley Café for several years. Later she was employed by the Golden Grain Macaroni Company in San Leandro twice, accumulating over 35 years of service. Throughout her life she was devoted to her family and friends. She was a fantastic cook and always had plenty of Puerto Rican food ready for anyone who walked through the door. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 1:30 pm in the Reflection Chapel of Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward CA 94544 preceded by visitation at 1:00 pm.
