Resident of Newark
Michael Glen McDaniel resided in Newark, CA his entire life. He was born Sept. 26th 1955 to Glen and Lenora McDaniel. He was raised with his older brother David and younger sister Juanita. He grew up on Spruce Street where he met his lifelong friends and an extended family. He was a mischievous teenager who played baseball, rode dirt bikes and took pleasure in a good joy ride. In 1975 at the age of 19 he met the love of his life Bonnie Lou Herring, they shared a new years eve kiss that year and have been together ever since. They walked down the aisle in 1978 and In Dec. of that year they were blessed with their daughter Christina Noreen McDaniel. Two and 1/2 years later in April of 1981 their family was complete with the birth of their son Michael David McDaniel. Mike found his nitch early in life in construction. He started off working in the family business, Newark Construction, alongside his brother and grandfather, joining the carpenters union in 1976. In 1986 Mike and his mom partnered in Tri City Marble, now Remodeling by TCM. He has built a reputable, successful company that his wife and son continue today. Mike enjoyed dirt bike riding and watching Nascar with his family. Mike battled kidney disease from the age of eight. In 1997 he received a transplant which allowed Mike and Bonnie to enjoy a higher quality of life. In 2001 Mike purchased his beloved Road King Classic and they started their adventure throughout the country with the "Road Kings". Mike enjoyed his piece of paradise on the Trinity River with his family. It was a place of serenity where they spent annual trips, enjoying each other's company and fishing on his piece of the "rock". Mike and Bonnie have been blessed with 8 grandchildren, Anthony, Makayla, Briauna, Mary, Eric, Mitzi, Lucy, Michael, 1 great grandchild Aiden and a lifetime full of love and memories.
Mike lost his battle with kidney disease/cancer peacefully passed in his home July 18th at his home with his family and friends by his side.
