Obituary Condolences

ERNEST LEE BROWN, SR. Was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on May 24, 1919 to William and Eunice Cora Brown. He attended schools in Shreveport, Louisiana and later joined the Navy in 1939. He served in the Asiatic Pacific having participated in the Philippines Liberation and received a honorable discharge holding the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He later attended Merritt College after serving his country. He accepted Christ at an early age and upon moving to California he joined BeeBe Memorial C.M.E. Ernest later joined the Layman Chapel C.M.E., which later became Amos Temple C.M.E. Ernest served Amos Temple as a Steward and a member of the Trustee Board. Ernest's name holds a position of honor on the Cornerstone of Amos Temple C.M.E. Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Wilhelmina and son Ronald Joseph Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory, one son Ernest Lee Brown Jr., daughter-in-law Diane: eight grandchildren: seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. A viewing will be held Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 1:00 - 4:00PM at C.P. Bannon. Funeral Services are being held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Amos Temple C.M.E. 1500 90th Avenue, Oakland, California. Reverend Lawrence P. Lakey officiating. The services entrusted to C.P.
