Rudolph VandenBroek Former Resident of Castro Valley 73, of Clearlake, California. Born on October 13, 1936. Formerly of Hidden Valley Lake, Hayward and Castro Valley. Died October 29, 2009. Survived by his wife, Dorice of Clearlake; daughter Peggy van den Broek, son-in-law Christopher Garwood, and granddaughter Olivia Garwood of Honolulu, Hawaii; Grandson Justin VandenBroek, his wife Ashley, and Great-grandson Austin Rudy of San Diego. Grandson Jacobus VandenBroek of Clearlake; Siblings: Diena Timmons, Jeannette Sarot, Shirley Walsh, twin sister, Ruth Pruitt and LaVonne Back. Dorice's family: Son, Guy Vasconcellos, wife Linda, their children Kate, Brooke and Craig; Son, Tod Vasconcellos and wife Deana. He will be missed by many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife, Florence May Conrad. He was married for 45 years from March 15, 1957 until her passing on November 17, 2002 and son, Jeffrey Vanden Broek who passed away on November 14, 2005. Predeceased by parents, Jacobus and Elizabeth de Kok VandenBroek, and siblings, Adriana VandenBroek, Jacobus VandenBroek, Ferdnandus VandenBroek, Betty Jane Kellar, Betty Lou VandenBroek, Barbara Nation, Johanna Thomas and Douglas VandenBroek. He worked with Local 378 Iron Workers Union in Oakland, California for forty years. A memorial will be held Sunday November 15, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. for all Elks and friends and guests.
