Haley Paige LaFlamme Obituary
Haley Paige LaFlamme Resident of San Ramon Beautiful Haley. Most people stride through life with a regimented need to accomplish tasks, forgetting that they are surrounded by a fabulous world for them to enjoy. Others, on the other hand, open up their arms, slowly close their eyes, take a long, deep breath and exhale. Haley was just that. Haley Paige LaFlamme, born August 23rd 1985, gave this world nearly 26 years of happiness. The short life Hay-Hay lived was taken full advantage of as she invested her time into things most people take for granted, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with their family and friends. The Bay Area is painted with Haley's brush and is the perfect canvas for a life of absolute adventure. Her love of camping and hiking were evident in the beautiful photographs she took and shared with many of us. Just over a year ago brought another love into her life, someone who shares her middle name, Haley's niece, Leighton Paige LaFlamme. Hay would now be able to teach Leigh-Leigh the music of John Mayer, the rules of soccer and the joys of spicy food. The youngest of three, Haley graduated from Castro Valley High School, a place where the foundations of her life would be formed and deep friendships would be born. Friendships that would last a lifetime and represent the very essence of who Haley was - a kind heart, a warm soul, a lovable free spirit, a beautiful young woman. A big brother means more to a little sister than he will ever know. What was once picking on them turns into picking them up; what was once looking down at them turns into them looking up to you. Haley's relationship with Harvey was one of admiration, gratitude and comfort. The many hours spent fixing Haley's cars, moving her in, moving her out and sharing each other's passion for the outdoors has captured irreplaceable memo-ries that only they will share. "A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life." Roe and Hay's bond was extra-ordinarily special. Growing up together, living together, traveling together, working out together and hiking together; inseparable and indestructible. Unlike so many of us that are worried about all the things left unsaid because they were not brave enough to say them, Haley said them and made sure the people she loved knew. Leaving a trail wherever she went, Hay has left her mark in our world, a mark that will stay with all of us, a mark that will be different for each of us. We all lost something on Sunday, July 31st, 2011. Janet and Harvey lost their youngest baby. Roe and Harvey lost their little sister. Roelene and John lost their granddaughter. Gemma and Nick lost their beloved stepsister. Farewell sweet Haley, keep smiling...
