Secure in her Catholic faith, Veronica Catherine (Flick) Seitz departed this world on March 29, 2012 at the age of 95. Born in Butte Montana on July 1, 1916, she was the daughter of John Joseph and Veronica Catherine Walsh. As a child her family moved frequently, finally settling in Oakland California. Veronica attended Brett Hart Shool and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Oakland. She married her high school sweetheart, Harry Albert Flick in 1935. They were married almost 50 wonderful years before his death in 1984. Together they had two children, Bonnie Jeanne Perry of Concord, CA and Harry Albert Flick II (Hank) of Starkville, MS. In her professional life, she was a life-long union supporter and card carrying teamster, who worked for Del Monte in their Quality Control Department for many years. She also was an athletic woman who played golf and volleyball. Later in life she would travel to watch her grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren participate in sports, continuing out in all weather, even at age 90! Veronica was an avid organ player and shared her love of music with her much loved second husband, Paul Walter Seitz. They were happily married 17 years before his death in 2003. Veronica is survived by her two children, Hank and Bonnie, three grandchildren Wendy Mores, Noelle Cole and Harrison Flick, four great-grandchildren Scotty and Valerie Mores and Andrew and Perri Cole, niece Kathy Helix, nephew John Walsh, cousins Frances O'Farrell and Harp Cote of Butte Montana, childhood friends Nellie Kiel, Frank Pringle and Bob Hansen and numerous friends at both the Castro Valley Senior Center and Carlton Plaza San Leandro. Veronica was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Walsh and her best friend, Mildred Gross who was like a sister to her.
