Lee Kenneth Knowlson, Jr. Sept. 30, 1929 - Jan. 18, 2013 Resident of Fremont Lee passed away on Fri., Jan. 18, in Modesto, CA, where he was a resident for the last 3 years. Lee and his wife, Freda Knowlson of 53 years, who recently passed away, were longtime residents of Fremont, CA Lee is survived by his brother, Donn Knowlson; his children: Pamela Urbano, Katherine Mendes, Kenneth Knowlson; his Grandchildren: Tiffany Neave, Tiara Urbano, Kristen Mendes, Jeremiah Mendes and Dale Mendes and 7 great grandchildren. Lee served his country for 20 years as an officer in the US Navy. After returning to the states he took a job with the Fremont Fire Department as a dispatcher where he worked for 22 years. He was an accomplished wood worker and was well known around Fremont for his craft. When he was younger he loved to fish and camp, passing that love onto his family. He was an avid reader and even bought a kindle when it came out and didn't leave home without it. We will miss many things about Lee, but I think one of the things that every family would agree on ishe made the best turkey and gravy in the world!
