Lloyd Nichols Clifton July 22, 1942 - May 8, 2013 Resident of Hayward Lloyd Nichols Clifton, aged 70, of Hayward, CA, passed away surrounded by family after a lengthy and dignified struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Vallejo CA and graduated from Brigham Young University. Lloyd's 34-year career in law enforcement began in the Berkeley Police Department and continued with DEA, including stints in Texas, Michigan, and the nation's capital before bringing him home to the San Francisco Bay Area. He was well travelled, and his work and holidays with his wife, Lynne, took him to 60 countries. In his final months, as throughout his life, he was surrounded by family, and friends old and new, all of whom loved and admired his kindness, humor, and open-hearted spirit. He was an avid collector of G-Man toys and clocks and had a monumental array of both. A dedicated worker, dog-lover, civic-minded Californian, and rower, Lloyd was a role model for his grandchildren. Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Nichols Clifton, Sr., and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynne Schauer Clifton; his mother Lucile Clifton; his son Randy (Jen) Clifton; his two grandchildren, Nicole and Kevin Clifton; his sister Caren (John) McMenamin; his brother-in-law Jeff Schauer (Veronica); nieces and nephews Angie DiRocco (Vince), Jeffrey Schauer, Taylor Schauer, Sean McMenamin (Kelly), Michelle Taylor (Brigham), Brian McMenamin (Brittainy) and a myriad of friends. Lloyd embraced the city of Hayward, served as a community service volunteer, proved instrumental in creating the Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force, and mentored a younger generation of community leaders. A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota, P.O.
