Arthur M. Jacobsen, 93, went to his heavenly home on July 29, 2013. He was born in the state of Washington but he was raised in Oakland, California.
Arthur served in World War II on the Hunter Ligget with service at Guadalcanal. Arthur loved the Coast Guard. After the war he worked in the Richmond yards as a skilled carpenter. Arthur was a member of Masonic Lodge in Orinda and the Scottish Rite Center in Oakland. Arthur volunteered many years for handicapped children. He had a generous heart.
He is survived by his wife Mildred, his son John, Teale Love and his wife Chris and Laurie Jacob and her husband Mike 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, niece Mary Ann Strong, nephew Richard Hansing and Cousin Betty Leduc.
His motto was "Everyday is a Holiday and Every Meal is a Banquet!"
He never met a stranger.
He will be deeply missed!
