Ray Clarkson Dec. 5, 1924 - Sept. 19, 2013 Resident of Bay Area Ray Clarkson, age 88, passed away Sept. 19, 2013, in San Antonio, TX after a life truly well lived. He was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Santa Rosa, CA to Fay and Elsie Clarkson. Ray was a beloved husband of 65 years, and a devoted father and grandfather. He proudly served his country during World War II and Korea as a Navy fighter pilot. Ray was an alumnus of San Jose State University, was very active in his church, the Masons and the Scottish Rite and enjoyed a long and storied career in construction. He leaves a legacy of devotion, honor and integrity. Ray is survived by his wife, Bernice V. Clarkson; daughter, Marjorie Clarkson-Saenz and husband Bob, grandchildren, Natalie Saenz Lampkin, David Saenz and Stephanie Saenz Tissot, and great-granddaughter, Cassidy Lampkin of California; sons, Richard Clarkson and wife LuAnn, grandchildren Daniel Clarkson and Megann Clarkson of Boise ID; and J.B. Clarkson and wife Leslie and granddaughter Lauren of Bulverde, TX. The family will receive friends from 3pm to 6pm, Wed., Oct. 2, 2013, at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Service, Thurs., Oct. 3, 2013, 1pm, Porter Loring North Chapel. Chaplain David Wallace will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
