Alan Ceccanti passed away on Veteran's Day 11/11/13 with his family by his side. He was 79. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan, and children David (Donna), Stephen (Heather), and Karalynn. Beloved Papa and Nono to Justin (Ashley), Jillian, and Gianna, great granddaughter Angelina and soon to arrive, great grandson Jaxon. Loving son to Renato and Josephine Ceccanti (deceased), brother to Richard Ceccanti and protective, loving brother to Sandra Pieri.
Alan grew up in San Francisco and joined the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1957. He then entered into retail grocery business as a butcher and eventually became a V.P. of Lucky Stores, Meat Division. He retired in 1999 after 42 years.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, working in his yard, and could always be found at his children's & grandchildrens sporting events. Alan never sat still & would always keep busy. After retiring he held several jobs including a volunteer for CHP which he dearly loved. A wonderful, fun, caring man - he will truly be missed.
Services at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 4000 E. Castro Valley Blvd. on Sunday, Nov. 24th 2013 at 2 p.m.
