Lifelong Resident of Alameda
Norman Vincent Lopolita, age 84 passed away peacefully on July 24, 2014. He was born in Oakland, but lived in Alameda his whole life. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha, and their daughter Cheryl Friedman of San Leandro, Sister Mary Ann Houck (Gene) of Livermore, and Sister D. Vida Reiss (Roland, deceased), of Alameda, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Vincent and Dorothy Lopolito.
A graduate of Alameda High School class of 1948. Served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Retired from Bank of America mechanical department after 35 years of service. A car enthusiast from early childhood, and a past member of the Northern California Packard Club. He enjoyed building custom hot rods for himself as well as friends. He was a passionate lover of animals and supporter of local rescue organizations.
