Obituary Condolences

PHILIP RICHARD MOORE July 23, 1936 - March 18, 2004 Phil passed away peacefully at Mt. Diablo Hospital with his family at his side. He was born in Bridgeport, IL and had lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1968. Phil was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy. He is survived by his mother, Madeline Moore, five children, Jack, Phyllis, Debbie, Jerry and Tim as well as two sisters, Jeannie and Kay. He had eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. As a Korean War veteran, he served in the USAF at Hamilton AFB in California as a weather observer. He was a member of the Bridgeport Moose Lodge, American Legion, Lions and VFW. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 40 years of dedicated service. Phil enjoyed communicating with other via the computer as well as making cards for the birthdays and other holidays. He often looked forward to trips to Reno. He was active in pursuing his family tree. Phil enjoyed telling stories to his grandchild about his childhood. He also enjoyed watching football and basketball games and was an avid A's fan. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Friday, March 26th at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 199 Brandon Road at Gregory Lane, Pleasant Hill. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette. Arrangements by Bryant and Moore Chapel, 925-682-1100.
