Donald H. Fulton, age 63, of Oscoda died on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born in Detroit on Aug. 18, 1950 to the late Donald and Geraldine Fulton (nee Nance). Donald grew up in Hazel Park and later graduated from Hazel Park High School in 1968. After school he joined the United States Air Force
and served over 20 years until his retirement as a tech sergeant in 1988 from Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda. Donald later worked in civil service for an additional six years.
He was also a distributor for the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press for more than 25 years in the Iosco County area. Donald was a former coach of various youth sports, girls high school bowling coach, certifier for bowling coaches and an avid bowler himself. He enjoyed watching sports and he was a big supporter of his children's activities.
Donald is survived by his wife, Cindy, whom he married on Oct. 4, 1969 in Detroit; two daughters and one son, Donna (Bill) Bickel of Oscoda, Sheila (David) Slavens of Dayton, Ohio and Don Fulton of Oscoda; two brothers, David (Janet) Fulton of Ortonville and Dennis (Shannon) Fulton of Hazel Park; 10 grandchildren, Allison, Kenny, Andrea, Glendon, Joseph, Sarah, Haleigh, Cade, Cameron and Cyra; one great granddaughter on the way; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Fulton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 4 at 11 a.m. (instate at 10 a.m.) at Grace Community Evangelical Church in Oscoda with Rev. Dale Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Oscoda Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda.
