Douglas E. Klenow of East Tawas passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital, age 41 years.
Doug was born in Tawas City to Norman E. and Barbara J. (Hester) Klenow. He attended Grand Valley and Saginaw Valley universities. He was employed by UPS as a driver and also as a lieutenant with the East Tawas Fire Department having proudly served for 20 years.
Doug had many passions in life, and he truly enjoyed fishing, water sports, gardening and spending time with family. He married his best friend, Brinda Lee (Chevalier), on July 22, 1994.
Doug is now survived by his loving wife, Brinda; and their three children, Amanda, Eric and Jenna, all of East Tawas; two grandchildren, Noel and Xzavior; his father and mother, Norm and Barb Klenow of East Tawas; two brothers, David (Kelley) Klenow of Greenville, N.C. and Denny (Pam) Klenow of Clarkston; nieces and nephews, Brooke, Tyler, Nolan, Drew, Adam, and Jack Klenow, Stuart and Krystal Rosenberry; and many, many dear friends. Doug was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edward Klenow; maternal grandparents, Grace and Harry Pelton and Nettie and Earl Hester; and his uncle, Tim Klenow.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Father Charles Donajkowski officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in East Tawas escorted honorably with U.S. Fire Service personnel and apparatus. At the cemetery, committal prayers will be said, a final page with Central Dispatch will be sounded and a tolling of the Firemen's Bell will be admirably sounded.
