Edna B. Amley, age 93, of Oscoda died on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, in Mesa, Ariz.
She was born in Detroit on March 7, 1919, to the late Homer and Harriet Baker (nee Fritts). Edna has resided in Oscoda since 1948 and she worked many years at Iosco Medical Care Facility. She was a licensed registered nurse from 1939 to 1988.
Edna was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and refinishing furniture.
Edna is survived by six children, Theresa (John) Rudowski of Oscoda, Mary (Earl) Hawn of Marquette, Joseph (Rose) Amley of Atlanta, Ga., Joan (Gerry) Cluff of Portland, Ore., Jean (Dan) O'Connor of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mike (Susie) Amley of Panama City Beach, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton F. Amley; daughter, Dianne Amley; son, Richard Amley; and sister, Helen Dippert.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Jan. 21, 11 a.m. (instate at 10 a.m.), at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. (Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a scripture service at 7 p.m.).
