Floyd James McDonald, age 64, of Oscoda died March 20, 2013 at home.
He was born in Durand on March 30, 1948. After high school he joined the U.S. Marine Corps
, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal as a rifle expert. Upon leaving the Corps, he served in the Reserves.
He moved to Oscoda in late 1984 and had a contracting business. He enjoyed baseball and hunting.
He is survived by his long-time friend, Barbara Coggins of Oscoda.
No services are planned, but a memorial will be held in the near future. Burial will be at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly with military honors.
