Janet Marie (nee Heckman) Hook, age 74, of Payson, Ariz. passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013.
She raised seven children as a military wife. She was an active life member of the VFW
and American Legion auxiliaries. She greatly enjoyed driving school bus, sewing, knitting, crochet and other crafts. She loved to hunt, had an awesome garden and loved her cats and dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Franklin Hook, on Jan. 1, 2013, parents Donald Eugene and Clara June (nee Oltman) Heckman and a grandson, Michael James Smith.
She is survived by four daughters, Judith M. (Kevin) Smith of Arkansas, Suzan A. (Kurt) Hatteberg of Colorado, Sheila A. (James) Baumgartner of Minnesota and Donita F. (John) Johnson of Florida; three sons, Neal F. (Nancy) of Michigan, Thomas E. (Dawn) and David A. (companion Wendee) Hook of Arizona; foster-son Mark Peterfish of Arizona; two brothers, Glenn (Marilyn) Heckman of Arizona and Irwin Heckman (Akiko Irwin) of Oregon; 16 grandchildren, Monica, Burton, Sherri Cole, Tiffany, Courtney, Zachary and Kevin Hook, Karl and Jared Hatteberg, Theresa Myers, Christopher O'Neal, Alexis and John Curtis Johnson, Jacque Joslin and Brittanie, Timothy and Makayla Hook; and 16 great-grandchildren.
