Mary Lindsley Flannery, age 84, passed away July 2, 2013 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital.
She was born June 25, 1929 in Barnes District, London, England to the late Harold and Dorothy Whorwell. Mary lived in London until her mid 20s when she met and married her late husband, James R. Flannery. James was in the military, and the two, along with their three children, finally settled in Ohio.
In 1989 after her spouse's passing, Mary lived in many states with her daughter Sharon and finally settled in Michigan in 1992. Mary was an active member of Oscoda United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, word searches, quilting with her friends from church, watching football games, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her children, Janet Flannery of Florida, Michael Rule of Ohio and Sharon (Philip) Keetch-Hauer of Oscoda. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Reich, Aaron Rule, Sarah Keetch, Stephanie Swartz and Travis Keetch. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Flannery.
